Repurposing of Ministry

This website has been updated, covered over, papered over, redone multiple times, and forgotten, but there are still many resources that continue to serve a function. At least for me.

The last time I updated this page was seventeen years ago--long enough for a kid born on that day to be a legal driver (wow, I'm getting old), and I'm not going to update every little thing. For instance, I had planned to create some useful worship planning software. Nowadays, I use a spreadsheet (that really needs to be a proper database, since that's its function) and WorshipPlanner, which is... sufficient for most purposes. (It lacks proper song source research, but I'm worried the trend in worship planning is leading away from any kinds of scholarly look at the music we use in churches, and how to use that music in a more, shall we say, thoughtful way. So unless you have the proper resources or training, WorshipPlanner is adequate.

Anyway, as ministry has morphed over these past (mumble mumble) years, so has the need for this website. I didn't mean to hide it exactly, but rebuilding was simpler than retooling. Still, getting to some of this information was hard, and I honestly had forgotten most of this. So I've updated a minimal amount and have provided a new "welcome" missive. I hope you enjoy my erudition. (wink)
