If I can ever get this section working, it will be probably the most useful part of this site. I'm working on the "definitive" database application for all music ministers, since the only other good one I've seen is PC-only (I use a Mac). I'll also probably be showing a lot of links to other sites specific to developing and leading in music ministries of many types, as well as much of the material I'm "absorbing" while attening seminary. For instance, check out my philosophy paper. Things like that.

About the database: It's called (for now, and rather generically) Church Music Database, but I'll probably name it something more cool like WorshipPlanner (not to be confused with RapidPlanner, which is a great program but will set you back $250--mine will be free). It will be completely extensible (for instance, you'll be able to add as many hymnals as you want--RapidPlanner only holds eight) and will include the ability to link you up with PowerPoint files and any scanned music you've got on your system (though this might be a copyright issue--I'll have to check into that), as well as track your worship team rosters and attendance. Cool stuff like that.

I'm also thinking about developing a "concordance" for songs--taking all the hymns and songs in modern usage and finding Scripture references that these songs address, if not outright quote. That, however, will most likely be a work in progress for quite some time, as the Bible is a rather large book with a fairly sizable store of references. In fact, once I get the project started, I'll probably try to get a message board going so that other worship leaders can share ideas and references they've used in conjunction with certain songs. That way some people may have found scripture/song connections that the rest of us haven't thought of yet.
