IN YOUR DARKEST MOMENTS

Have you ever wondered, “Where are you, God?” In our own trials, God has taught us that He is always present with us, and now we seek to energize His people and introduce His peace to those who have never experienced it. A personal relationship with God is possible. Let us walk with you in your journey. We are The Mays Family, calling God's people to share His story across the generations.

OUR STORY

When Michael and Joy married in 1997, they had a plan to serve God in concert ministry. Refining moments early in their marriage brought a deeper understanding of God's will, so they followed His leading through several years of seminary and church ministry. As they continued to seek His face, He changed their ministry trail. They now journey in concert ministry with their six children, pointing people to Jesus through music. They write their own songs and encourage their musically talented children to serve God in this ministry with them. They seek to bless others with their God-given talents and follow His call and leading. Michael and Joy and their family currently reside in Chickamauga, Georgia.

Michael and Joy Mays, and their children Jacob, Natalie, and Elena, are all talented in a variety of ways. Michael is an operatic tenor; Joy is a polished and accomplished concert pianist. Like their parents, each of the Mays children is talented vocally as well as in writing lyrics. Their genre is eclectic in style, presenting folk, adult contemporary, praise and worship, traditional hymns, and other styles and varieties mixed with their own written score and lyrics.

The Mays Family, a family of great God-given talent, will minister to your people. Contact Mays Music Ministries for a concert in your church, conference, event, or other gathering. Love offerings are appreciated.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.'" Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)

MICHAEL AND JOY MAYS
AND THEIR CHILDREN

Our hope is that all the souls we reach have had (or will have) an encounter with Jesus Christ, realizing Him as the only Savior for their souls. His sacrifice on the cross was validated by His innocent life. He defeated death by His bodily resurrection, which legitimized His lordship over each life. We pray that His Holy Spirit, who guides all earnest seekers to truth, will reveal the real Jesus to everyone we are blessed to meet.

MICHAEL

An award-winning soloist, Michael's tenor voice will uplift your spirit and soothe your soul. He not only sings and plays guitar but also writes much of the music to Joy's poetry for their family's performances and albums. Michael was led to Christ by his mother when he was seven years old.

JOY

Versatile in her musical abilities, Joy sings, writes much of their music’s lyrics, and is a very talented concert pianist, playing many of her own arrangements. Joy grew up in a pastor's home and was saved at the age of six.

JACOB

Now a 18-year-old teenager and a senior in high-school, Jacob is representing his family and Savior with distinction. He enjoys singing with his family and has written a few songs of his own from his thoughts and love for God. Jacob accepted Christ at the age of four, led to the Lord by his dad.

NATALIE

Natalie, at sixteen the oldest of the Mays' daughters, uses her strong voice and love for sharing Christ in song to exhort others in the faith. Her cheery, magnetic personality brightens any room she walks into. Natalie embraced her Savior at six years of age, led to Christ by her mom.

ELENA

Elena loves reading and sings alongside her sister and mom, and has dabbled in some songwriting of her own. Now fourteen, she is motivated by a strong desire to be obedient to the Lord in every area of her life. She became a daughter of the King at five, led by her dad.

CAROLINE

Caroline's sweet spirit is loving and conscientious of doing what will please the Lord. Now eleven years old, she has begun practicing with the family, and makes occasional appearances as she gets up to speed on the repertoire. She met Jesus in 2015, introduced to Him by her mom.

JONATHAN

At age nine, Jonathan is an energetic, curious and rambunctious "all boy." When he isn't imagining himself to be Spider-man, he loves to sing, and he looks forward to performing in a concert alongside his family. For now, he is their best audience. His dad led him to faith in Jesus when he was five.

CHLOE

In early December of 2015, God blessed the family with a new member. Chloe Elizabeth came into their world and brought heaven's sweet blessing of a newborn baby. Now four years old, Chloe has already demonstrated some amazing musical intuition, and loves being the star of the show, even from the audience!

Pray for the Mays family, as they raise their children, that they model Christ to them and teach them the importance of servant leadership as they interact with an increasingly hostile culture.

WHAT SOME OF OUR AUDIENCES HAVE SAID

"Hi, Mays Family! This is just a quick thank-you for your wonderful music during the eclipse event in Niota, TN last Monday. The hospitality shown by all the locals to a deluge of strangers was indeed heartwarming, and above all your beautiful voices lifted the spirits. The great weather for the eclipse made the 4,000 mile journey worthwhile, but your songs of praise were the icing on the cake.

Best regards, and greetings from Dublin, Ireland."

“The Mays family not only sang, played, and led with excellence, creativity, beauty and skillfulness, they reflected the love and joy of the Savior through their countenances and expressions. Their music selections were Word and Christ focused and were effective in preparing our hearts to receive Christ’s Word with reverence and awe. God has truly blessed this family, and they have in turn shared their blessings with His people in His worship as we savored Christ and His presence through their music.”

"Where do I start? Let's just say it is very hard to be in a sour mood while listening to the Mays family! I love how the entire family minister through music. It is such a blessing to put my headphones on take a long walk and listen to my savior calling! I especially enjoy the instrumental. Thank you Mays family!!”

"As a Pastor, I highly recommend the Mays Family for a concert in your church. The love of Jesus radiates through this very talented family as they minister in song. Sincerity and dedication just begins to describe the Mays Family. It is evident that they desire to reach out and impact the lives of the audience; encouraging them to love one another so that Christ will be glorified in their lives."

“It is my joy to share with you about Michael Mays and his family. They recently shared with our church during the morning worship hour. Our church was very receptive of them and enjoyed their ministry. They are such a talented family with a great heart for the Lord. I have known Michael for several years and he supplied for me on various occasions when I would be out of town. It is good to know you are leaving things in such capable hands. Anyone interested in having a fresh and new worship experience would do well to use them.”

“Although the immediate impact of seeing the Mays family perform may be more about the music or the skits or the Bible point, I think there is a more lasting impact, as well. For many, seeing a family working together to use their God-given gifts and talents in the local mission field will open their eyes and hearts about how they, too, can serve God, right where they are at.”
