28

Moreover we know that

to those who love God,

who are called according to his plan,

everything that happens fits into a pattern for good.

29

For God, in his foreknowledge,

chose them

to bear the family likeness of his Son,

that he might be the eldest of a family of many brothers.

30

He chose them long ago;

when the time came

he called them,

he made them righteous in his sight,

and then lifted them to the splendor of life as his own sons.

31

In face of all this, what is there left to say?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who

did not grudge his own Son

but gave him up for us all--

32

can we not trust such a God

to give us, with him, everything else that we can need?

33

Who would dare to accuse us,

whom God has chosen?

God himself has declared us free from sin.

34

Who is in a position to condemn?

Only Christ Jesus,

and Christ died for us,

Christ also rose for us,

Christ reigns in power for us,

Christ prays for us!

35

Who can separate us from the love of Christ?

Can trouble, pain or persecution?

Can lack of clothes and food,

danger to life and limb,

the threat of force of arms?

36

Indeed some of us know the truth of that ancient text:

For thy sake we are killed all the day long;

We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37

No, in all these things we win an overwhelming victory

through him who has proved his love for us.

38

I have become absolutely convinced that

neither death nor life,

neither messenger of Heaven nor monarch of earth,

neither what happens today nor what may happen tomorrow,

39

neither a power from on high nor a power from below,

nor anything else in God's whole world

has any power to separate us

from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!

28

And we know that

in all things God works for the good

of those who love him,

who have been called according to His purpose.

29

For those God foreknew

he also predestined

to conform to the likeness of His Son,

that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

30

And

those he predestined, He also called;

those he called, he also justified;

those he justified, he also glorified.

31

What, then, shall we say in response to this?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

32

He who

did not spare his own Son,

[but] gave him up for us all--

how will he not also

along with him

graciously give us all things?

33

Who will bring any charge against those

whom God has chosen?

It is God who justifies.

34

Who is he that condemns?

Christ Jesus,

who died--

more than this, who was raised to life--

is at the right hand of God

and is also interceding for us.

35

Who shall separate us from the love of God? Shall

trouble or

hardship or

persecution or

famine or

nakedness or

danger or

sword?

36

As it is written,

"For your sake we faith death all day long;

we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.

37

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors

through him who loved us.

38

For I am convinced that

neither death nor life,

neither angels nor demons,

neither the present nor the future,

nor any powers,

39

neither height nor depth,

nor anything else in all creation

will be able to separate us

from the love of God

that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

28

And we know

that all things work together

for good

to those who love God

to those who are the called according to His purpose.

29

For

whom He knew, He also predestined

to be conformed to the image of His Son,

that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30

Moreover

whom He predestined, He also justified;

and whom He justified, these also He glorified.

31

What then shall we say to these things?

If God is for us,

who can be against us?

32

He who

did not spare His own Sun, but

delivered Him up for us all,

how shall he not

with Him

also freely give us all things?

33

Who shall bring a charge against God's elect?

It is God who justifies.

34

Who is he who condemns?

It is Christ

who died,

and furthermore is risen,

who is even at the right hand of God,

who also makes intercession for us.

35

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall

tribulation, or

distress, or

persecution, or

famine, or

nakedness, or

peril, or

sword?

36

As it is written,

"For Your sake we are killed all day long;

we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors

through Him who loved us.

38

For I am persuaded that

neither death nor life,

nor angels nor principalities nor power,

nor things present nor things to come,

39

nor height nor depth,

nor any created thing,

shall be able to separate us from the love of God

which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
