"Associate Pastor of Worship and Communications"
Principle Function
The Associate Pastor of Worship is responsible to the senior pastor for the development and promotion of the worship/music and communications programs of the church.
Worship/Music Responsibilities
- Direct the planning organizing, conducting, anal evaluating of a comprehensive worship/music program including choirs, vocal and/or instrumental ensembles to incorporate a blended but contemporary style of music.
- Supervise work of assigned accompanists, musicians, and technicians.
- Serve as a member of the Church Council in the area of Worship; Coordinate the worship/music program with the organizational calendar and emphasis of the church; Cooperate to enlist and train leaders for the church worship/music ministry including graded choir workers and accompanists.
- Direct the planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating of graded choir programs including children, youth, and senior adults.
- Assist she senior pastor in planning all services of worship.
- Arrange and provide music for weddings, funerals, special projects, ministries, and other church-related activities upon request.
- Plan, organize, and promote choir tours, workshops, and clinics for various choirs.
- Oversee and maintain all audio, visual, and communications equipment of the church as well as music materials, supplies, and instruments.
- Keep informed on music methods, materials, promotions, and administration.
- Prepare an annual worship/music/communications budget for the Church Budget Committee; Administer the approved budget.
- Other duties as assigned by senior pastor.
