| 1. | A description of proposed
plan and how it relates to the church's basic purpose:
The worship program is one of the first impressions anyone will get of our
church service. Our goal should be to approach God in the ways prescribed
in His Word (Isaiah 6:1--13) and in an orderly fashion (1 Corinthians
14:40).
|
| 2. | Why is this ministry needed?
The worship program assists worshipers as the service moves from one
element to the other, enabling them to more fully appreciate the
significance of each element. It allows flow and continuity to be
maintained so as to allow as little distraction as possible. Choruses,
sermon outlines and announcements also serve to facilitate worship,
study and service opportunities.
|
| 3. | The Costs to the church (in
detail):
Last year: $6,000.00
This year: $6,000.00
Printing and folding costs for weekly worship programs, seasonal and
occasional program folders are covered in this line item. No increase has
been requested for the coming year.
|
| 4. | What this will mean to the church in
opportunities and costs in 1--3 years:
If the worship program is a first impression, we must be prepared to put
our best foot forward. With the declining costs of printing resources, there
is less and less reason for not producing a quality worship guide.
(Proverbs 17:7; Hebrews 11:4). General information about the church is
readily available to visitors, and members can easily find relevant items
of interest.
|
| 5. | Alternatives:
The worship guide could be produced in the church office. This would
require additional time at the expense of quality, a lose-lose situation in
any case. Additionally, new copying equipment would be necessary to
bear the increased burden of duplication.
